Playtech Acquires Ash Gaming

Ash GamingPlaytech, the online gaming software developer has bought Ash Gaming for 23 million pounds. Playtech had raised 156 million dollars for acquisitions. It has acquired 10 online gaming companies and the acquisition of Ash Gaming was its 4th in 2011. This is part of Playtech’s strategy to combine its technological expertise with the high class content of the companies acquired. It has a similar strategy with its joint ventures (See article: Playtech Joint Ventures in Germany and South Africa).
Ash Gaming was founded in London in 2002 and employs about 40 people. It is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. The company develops interactive gambling and betting software. In 2011 Ash Gaming increased the number of products it offers its clients and generated income from over 40 games. In the same year it doubled its profit to 2.6 million pounds. Under the deal with Playtech some of the 23 million pounds purchase money will be delivered on production of new games from Ash Gaming. The company has a very good reputation it is very strong on innovation and supplies its online casino games to over 30 licensees. The plan is that Playtech will introduce Ash Gaming games to the many online casinos on its software platform.Ash Gaming is well known for the innovation of its games. Initially it offered its clients online games specific to their casino. Ash Gaming games are inventive with high quality graphics and are attractive to players while being profitable for the online casinos they supply including Virgin Casino, Gala Casino, Betfair Casino and Bet365 among others. Games developed by Ash Gaming include casino games, virtual racing and slot games.Playtech was interested in acquiring Ash Gaming since April 2011. Of the 23 million pounds paid, 15.5 million was paid straight away and 7.5 million will be paid over the next three years. Playtech wishes to acquire companies which are leaders in the field of online gaming and Ash Gaming is a leading developer of interactive gambling and betting games.

Ash Gaming software does not need to be downloaded, it plays in flash mode and the games can be played from any web browser. Playtech’s part of the global online gaming market will increase since the operators who were using Ash Gaming software will now use Playtech technology.
